So here it goes...
Sam Mason had an intimate dinner get together t celebrate his birth day (he's 27 now) at Kabuki in Burbank. We had a good time and finished up kinda early and thought the night was over... till we went outside! As we (Sam "B-day boy", Heather "the wife", Brandon Hart, and Mike Olson) stood on the curb saying our good-byes we noticed some yells and some little fat guy in a jersey running down the street away from us. There was a woman carrying a car seat running toward the intersection the man was running from but really it was less like running and more like lumbering slowly... Someone yelled, "The car is rolling" and Sam and I noticed that the car had no driver and was slowly rolling up hill into the intersection!
Okay, at this point I am thinking, domestic dispute and the guy is running off because he is scare? The man stole the woman's puers/diaper bag and was running away (accept he was not carrying anything, just trying to pull up his paints)... It turns out that the man was stealing the woman's car, the woman (and party) walked out of the restaurant and noticed their car driving away!
Sam jumped into the driver seat and pulled the car through the intersection and the woman slowly approved the car and thanked us for the help, etc. etc... The woman called the police who showed up in about 2 mins! Good ol' Burbank PD (not LAPD)!!
Well, Sam gave his report, the helicopter flew by and some more cops passed looking for the suspect, etc. etc....
Heather and I went home for the night but when we got home we remembered that the condo was having a "Grand re-opening" party with a mini circus and free booze! We wanted to see what it was lick and made it right in time for the scantily clad dancers! We talked with some of my old co-workers and then decided to go home since it was around 11pm or so. On the walk home Heather and I stopped to see some of the upgrades in the sales office (swanky) and such but really wanted to just get home! As we rounded the of the neighboring building I could hear a faint squeaking sound and didn't seem to come from any one place... It wasn't till Heather noticed it that we found the source!
Now some may find this mildly offensive so stop reading if you are put off by immoral acts ;)
The squeak was caused by the bad suspension of a parked vehicle with fogged windows! As we both squelched laughter till we were farther away we tried to peer into the bouncing car but to no avail! We decided that we needed to walk by again to get a better look and truly asses the situation! We decided that we "wanted to look at the new gym" so we would have to walk buy again... and it was at that point that the frequency of the squeak increased ;) We ran by, not being able to contain our laughter but not wanting to spoil anything and came to rest behind a near by car where in clear eye and ear shot!
The "Comedy" ensued for about 20min or so while frequency both increased then trailed off and other people would walk by and notice what was happening too! Heather and I finally decided to leave them alone and just go home. As we walked and I could finally gather myself I realized that that type of car was the same type as a friend I had seen earlier in the circus tent?! I told heather and she agreed, I gave them a few more mins and then decided to text my friend... who took some time to reply but finally called me back! I asked what was up, and was told that [my friend] was walking from building 2 to building 4 to see some friends... This friend of mine does not live here yet so it would seem a good reason to be "doing it" in the back seat of a car in the guest paring lot! I asked if [my friend] was alone and was told now, they were walking with just one person!
I have to admit that I still don't "know" if it was really them or someone else but I plan on finding out today... I'll keep you posted :)
